Excel for financial modellers (Eng)

In this course, we will teach you the key excel formulas and commands necessary to build a financial model.

Any other modelandum courses purchased on this website, will include this excel module as reference, but it is also available standalone.

Financial modelling is an essential skill for those working on investment projects or advisory roles in areas such as private equity, M&A, real estate, project finance or venture capital.

It is increasingly common for the key players in this sector to require job applicants to have proficiency in financial modelling as part of their skill-set. This is for the simple reason that a significant part of their day to-day role involves the design, construction and handling of these financial models. As a result, firms often include a financial modelling exam as part of their selection process.

To this date, excel is the most widely used programme for financial modelling. Although financial modelling goes beyond knowing lots of Excel functions, it is important to have a good command of excel to work with financial models fluently.

Usually, there are many ways to achieve the same result, but a skilled modeller will always find the simplest and easiest to understand approach to problem solving.
